LOTUS LEAF YOGA
Another term started, the cooler days are upon us and the challenge to attend classes when you could be sitting in the local cafe sipping a hot strong latte! Hmm... well take a personal challenge!
Swap momentarily the latte for an hour of half of beautiful views & exchanging 80% of oxygen to detoxify the body with some pranyama breathwork; a warming round of sun salutes, strong leg work to tone and strengthen your legs that may possibly do less exercise over the cooler months ahead; followed by a balance to calm the mind and ground the body to the earth. Next some strength work for our shoulders, some ab work to tone our bellies which will, by the effects of Mother Nature herself store more fat over the winter... sad but true! We come down to the floor for our seated poses to help aid in digestion; some gentle backbends to keep our backs strong yet supple, nurturing the kms of nerves which stem from here! Finish up with a gentle rotation to help wring toxins out of the organs and then you can lie down in Savasana for a blissful 5 minutes.
After an hour and a half of stretching, flexing, strengthening and resting, you may feel so energised, that you won't need a latte - well at least not until the afternoon perhaps! :)
